During the time of the “full moon”, when the tides are at their highest (20+Feet), the Ometepe Estuary fills with mineral rich sea water from the Sea of Cortez.

The sun and winds start the evaporation process of the water trapped in the Estuary.  As the water becomes more concentrated, it settles into the underlying alluvial sands.

We draw the concentrated, naturally filtered sea water of the Sea of Cortes from those alluvial sands and deliver it to a crystalizing pond.

In the crystalizing pond, the sun and wind complete their job evaporating clean mineral solids waiting to be harvested and shipped to your farm or ranch.
